Configure Automatic Execution#
- Open the Cron configuration file
crontab -e
, the first time you set it up, the system will prompt you to choose a default editor. - Add a scheduled task, the format of the Cron expression is as follows:
* * * * * command_to_be_executed
- - - - -
| | | | |
| | | | +----- Day of the week (0 - 7) (Sunday is 0 or 7)
| | | +------- Month (1 - 12)
| | +--------- Day of the month (1 - 31)
| +----------- Hour (0 - 23)
+------------- Minute (0 - 59)
- The following Cron expression indicates executing a Python script at midnight (0:00) every day:
0 0 * * * /usr/bin/python3 /path/to/your/script.py
- Verify the scheduled tasks
